About St Mark's - School Rules

Each child will treat every other person in the school with respect.
All forms of bullying are unacceptable in this school. It is the responsibility of teachers, parents and pupils that a safe environment be fostered.
The school building, property, books etc., must be treated with care to avoid damage.
Punctuality and regular attendance are required from every pupil. Absence and late-coming should be explained by a note from parents. Full school uniform must be worn. Children should make sure to bring along all necessary books and equipment.
During the course of the school day, children should apply themselves with diligence and to the best of their ability. They should cooperate with the teacher and with their fellow pupils in all class activities
Children moving about the school must do so quietly and in an orderly manner.
In the playground children must remain in their own area, avoid games that might lead to injury and line up in an orderly manner when directed to do so. Children may not bring to the yard food, toys or any item likely to cause a disturbance. No child may leave the playground without the permission of the teacher on duty. Children in the hall or classrooms during playtime must remain seated.
No child may leave the school premises without written permission.
During a teacher's absence from the classroom, each pupil should remain seated and continue in silence with the work assigned.
Each pupil must have his/her homework journal signed each night. Parents are expected to monitor and check homework before signing and to explain by a note when homework is not completed.
Punishments given must be accepted with good grace, completed promptly and signed by a parent. Failure to do so will be considered a serious offence.
Jewellery: For safety reasons it is requested that the only items of jewellery children wear to school is a wrist watch.
