National Tree Day

Be Nature Nice: 8th - 12th of October 2018.
National Tree Day

We will be celebrating National Tree Day here in St. Mark's S.N.S. from Monday 8th October until Friday 12th October. The theme this year is "Be nature nice!" or "Bí dóighiúil don dúlra!" Read on to hear about some of the exciting activities that we have planned for the week!

Nature Trail: There will be a short nature trail organised in the school's woodland area. This was great fun last year, so don't forget your SESE copies and your nature eyes to observe, explore, record, sketch and take rubbings in our forest.

Art Competition: There will be an art competition for all classes with a winner from each class and an overall winner from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. The theme is 'Trees' or 'Be nature nice!' and the strands used can be Drawing, Paint and Colour, Print or Fabric and Fibre.

Photo Competition: We are holding a photo competition with 6th class. 2 children from each 6th class will participate and the best 3 entries will be awarded a prize.

A great week ahead here in St. Mark's! Don't forget your coats and remember......"Be nature nice". Enjoy the week everyone! Remember to check back here and to follow our school Twitter page to see what we get up to over the week!
